Woodstock, Georgia’s Scarecrow Invasion is one of the biggest Scarecrow events in the southeast. 2022 marks a record number of entrants, with over 200 scarecrows invading the downtown area. Visitors donate a dollar to vote for their favorite and proceeds benefit downtown beautification projects.
Carpe Diem Rotary Club members stood in line on opening day to secure one of the coveted spots! Members joined forces to build a display representative of this year’s Rotary theme, Imagine. Their Scarecrow represents John Lennon proudly holding his guitar, adorned with the Imagine Rotary logo, his self-portrait, and an artistic peace sunflower for Ukraine.
A pumpkin carved with the Rotary wheel holds photos of Carpe Diem members, while other pumpkins are painted with inspirational messages.
Imagine eradicating polio. Imagine volunteering in your community with like-minded friends. Imagine becoming a member of the Carpe Diem Rotary Club. The public is encouraged to take a photo with John and post it to Carpe Diem’s FB page with their Imagine idea of how they would improve their community.
